This position is with our Bridge adult residential program, a 12-bed facility providing treatment for homeless adults living with major mental illness, often accompanied by co-occurring conditions. Our program operates 24/7, offering an integrated, individualized, and client-centered approach. Staff are trained in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and mental health and substance use treatment. What You Will Do
The Mental Health Support Specialist position provides direct service in the residential group care or transitional living setting.
- Provide personal support and supportive counseling to residents.
- Contribute to creating a sense of permanency and home-like environment.
- Assist in identifying and addressing emerging needs, including physical and mental health wellbeing and medication administration.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility, including staff office, charts, and documentation.
- Attend program staff meetings regularly and participate in other meetings as required.
Qualifications Needed For Success
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in mental health preferred.
- Must become certified as a Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician 1 (MHRT1) within 1 year of employment and maintain required training for continuous MHRT1 status.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills are essential.
- Flexibility in schedule is required.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment is necessary.
More About This Position
- This is a full-time, salaried role. You will work onsite out of our Portland office with some flexibility to work remotely.
