Court Sports Staff
Reports to: Court Sports Head Professional
Supervises: No supervisory duties are included with this position
Classification: Part-Time, Seasonal Position
Education and/or Experience:
- Core education competencies. Specifically, computer skills.
- Background in retail, specifically tennis/pickleball sporting goods knowledge.
- Familiarity with retail point-of-sale (RPOS) system preferred.
- Tennis and pickleball certifications preferred, PTR, PPR, USPTA, etc.
- Basic first aid knowledge, official CPR/First Aid training preferred.
Requirements:
- Basic computer skills.
- Customer service attributes, greeting members with a friendly, smiling face.
- Knowledge of both tennis and pickleball, scoring, proper etiquette, strokes.
- Played tennis and pickleball before, preferably 3.5+ ranking.
- Assisting Court Sports Head Professional and Tennis Professional with lessons/events.
- Ability to substitute into league play for both tennis and pickleball.
- Ability to assist with league play, (answer questions, sending members to designated courts).
Job Duties:
- Checking in members and guests for court time.
- Observing courts and ensuring guests are accounted for.
- Responsible for charges during time of shift, lessons, guest fees, court fees, merchandise purchases.
- Knowledge of brand names in shop, ability to help members with choice of paddles/racquets and other merchandise.
- Checking in/out demo racquets/paddles.
- Helping with inventory management when needed, restocking supplies.
- Answering the phone, greeting members in a welcoming manner, answering questions.
- Knowledge of all activities each day/month, answering questions regarding clinics/events.
- Booking court reservations for members when needed.
- Keeping Court Shop clean and organized, vacuuming each closing day, wiping windows when needed, cleaning bathrooms, restocking supplies, folding towels, arranging chairs, takes out trash on courts and in shop.
- Assists with court maintenance. (Wind screens, court numbers and nets).
- Blows courts with blower daily on opening shift, removes any abandoned balls and or garbage.
- Sets up pickleball nets when needed.
- Attends staff meetings when required.
- Successfully completes tasks assigned by the Court Sports Head Professional.
- Readiness to learn and ask questions!
Job Summary:
Check-in players, monitor court usage (making sure guests are accounted for), assist with on-court teaching when needed, maintaining the Court Shop, daily court maintenance and assisting members with purchases.
