Job Title: ABA Technician
Reports to: Principal, Classroom Teacher, BCBA

Responsibilities:
-
Works directly with students who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder or other related developmental disabilities

Implements individualized academic and behavior programs
-
Provides instruction using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), including discrete trial instruction, task analysis, naturalistic teaching techniques
-
Participates in the daily routine of a classroom including but not limited to activities such as circle time, recess, lunch, group activities, and toileting
-
Independently implements student-specific behavior plans to decrease challenging behaviors and increase functional behaviors

Collects ongoing data, summarizes the data to monitor students’ progress, and identifies next steps in program

Conducts or assists with conducting student skills assessments

Communicates in written or verbal format with BCBA and classroom teacher about student progress

Implements direct instruction in the home or other after school environment to increase appropriate social skills, activities of daily living, and social interactions and/or address other IEP goal areas

Models implementation of academic and behavior programs for parents

Assist with training staff in implementation of behavior intervention plans and skills building programs

Gathers, maintains, and prepare students’ materials, data sheets, and program notebooks

Responsible for any other duties assigned

Terms of Employment

182 day work year during the school year and at least 19 days during the summer
-
15 sick days per work year, 3 of which may be used for personal reasons, prorated as necessary.

School Year Hours: 6.25 hours a day/5 days a week at school and up to a total of 4 hours (over 2 days) a week of home or after school services between 3 and 6 PM

Summer Hours: 4.5 hours a day/ 4 days a week for 5-6 weeks during July and August and modified after school/home service hours during the summer program depending on the needs of the students.

Pay for the hours during the school day are converted to an annual salary and paid biweekly and home/after school hours are paid by timesheet submitted to the Director of Student Services and paid biweekly.

You may not provide private ABA/respite services for students of the Stoneham Public Schools
-
No paid vacation time.
