Our Visions of an educator
We are looking for educators who are on fire and proud of their work, intrinsically motivated by self growth, and committed to researching “ how children learn” within an inquiry based and Reggio Emilia approach. Philosophy and learning approach
We are a progressive school for young children that follows an inquiry based and Reggio Emilia approach to learning. We believe that children are capable beings and our best catalyst to see the world from a fresh point of view. Observation, reflection, research and hypothesis are living and breathing foundations of our learning approach alongside children and the community of Dot To Dot. We believe in providing boundless opportunities for educators and children to play, experience and understand their potentialities to help develop a voice and have the confidence to use it.
Your Outcomes and Execution of the values
You are Hungry and committed to learning by reading, researching, collaborating in order to expand one’s perspective. This will be included in your annual Individual Growth Path- We have a typical of five books, Minimum of three continuing Education courses, Social Emotional training podcasts, and personal growth goals that you will set with the leadership team and responsible for accomplishing annually. We strive to get high goals and inspire to reach them together.
You practice Critical thinking to hypothesize and execute complex and intellectual spaces, materials and opportunities for research within Dot To Dot. This will be done through collaborations, provocations and learning opportunities that educators prepare for the children.
You will Execute the “ wonder of learning” exhibit- Our pedagogical team leaders craft a year- long focus of research for our professional learning related to the central tenets of our pedagogical practice.
You will create visual and written documentation that analyzes the meaning of children's play and that tell the story of our learning about children’s learning.
You will build genuine and authentic connections with the children and families of Dot To Dot by proactively engaging in heartfelt, honest, effective and professional verbal and written communication.
You will consistently practice observation of children through note taking, videos and transcripts, artifacts to then come together in collaborations, to plan action items. We plan offerings to the children intended to support and extend their intellectual, emotional and social pursuit.
You are invited into leadership roles in our programs, facilitating visits by professionals to Dot To Dot, leading orientations, tours, open houses, workshops for new staff, partnering with a team as mentors and writing publications and giving lectures at local like minded schools and universities.
We are a group of educated and invested human beings dedicated to growing our mindset and elevating our practice by constantly learning and attending local and international training in areas of brain Sciences, behavior and sensory research, innovation and pedagogy of Reggio Emilia. Growing ourselves physically, mentally and emotionally as a whole is our commitment to the team just as much as to the children we work with. Our culture is clear and Kind as Brene Brown calls out, and we believe in the truth and transparency of who we are no matter what. Some examples of training include NAREA summer and winter conferences, West Coast collaborative, Boulder Journey school collaborations and training, and Reggio Emilia international training.
Age Range of children and your team:
- We are looking for educators who can work with a range of ages from 18 months to 5 years old.
- Our ratios are kept small to serve with quality and intentionality
- You will be supported and collaborate with our Social Emotional Specialist team- Coaching and implementing Conscious and Positive Discipline alongside our team and families
- You will collaborate and work alongside our incredible Atelierista
- You will collaborate and work alongside our group of pedagogista
- You are supported by the leadership team in elevation your human essence through yearly goals in area of personal, spiritual and professional
- You will be working alongside our Food Education specialist and professional chef
- You will connect and collaborate with our incredible group of families in supporting and execution of our vision
- You are provided daily prep time and weekly collaborations with the team mentioned above to expand perspective and continue the learning
- You are coached and mentored to reach your full potential, and expected to participate in this exchange fully to get the most of out of our partnership
Minimum qualification
- Bachelor Degree in Education, or Early Childhood Education
- Child Development Certificate and 5+ years of experience working with young children
- Experience working in Reggio Inspired or Inquiry Based Approach
- 4 Core Classes of Early Childhood Education: Introduction of the field of Child Development, Child Growth and Development, Child/ Family and Community, Curriculum for young children
