Best Care EMS is looking for a self-motivated individual to fill the position of Operations Supervisor. You must be a Paramedic to be considered for this position.
GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK:
- Plans, organizes, coordinates and evaluates the delivery of emergency medical services including, but not limited to MICU, ALS, & BLS emergency and non-emergency ambulance transports.
- Assists with fleet maintenance when needed.
- Coordinates with all EMT field personnel, operations, and dispatch departments to ensure appropriate delivery of EMS services and ETA compliance.
- Acquires and maintains working knowledge of County, State, and Federal laws, regulations and medical protocols dealing with the delivery of pre-hospital emergency and non-emergency medical services.
- Assists with the preparation and administration of EMS operations, responsible for all EMS medical supplies ordering for highest efficiency, and placing medical equipment in service.
- Supervises the effective operation, utilization, and maintenance of medical equipment and medical supply inventory to keep equipment well maintained and focus on loss prevention.
- Ensures all patient care reports and supporting documentation are complete and delivered in a timely manner.
- Attends and assists as back up field personnel on emergency and non emergency calls as needed by dispatch.
- Assists in monitoring station operations to ensure the delivery of quality and cost effective service. This would include but not be limited to appropriate vehicle utilization and efficient in-service times for crews.
- Communicates with on duty crews to ensure operational readiness.
- Ensures crew compliance with established medical protocol, policies and procedures.
- Assists with field personnel scheduling.
- Assists in ensuring that all patient care reports and supporting documentation are complete, correct and delivered in a timely manner.
- Acts as a backup Medic on emergency and non-emergency calls as needed.
- Assists in evaluating, counseling and participates in disciplinary procedures of field personnel.
- Candiate will also play an integral role with marketing and overall business growth throughout the market
- Assists in overseeing vehicle re-stocking/cleaning to ensure they meet or exceed state requirements in regards to maintenance, equipment, supplies and cleanliness.
- Assists in the orientation and in-service training of new and current employees.
- Determines the need for and ensures that Incident Reports, Accident Reports and other documentation is completed as required.
- Works with other supervisors and/or managers to evaluate and resolve operational problems.
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. The individual in this position must possess the following qualifications:
- Current Texas Paramedic License.
- Valid Texas Divers License
- Effective communication skills.
- Proficient with computers, specifically, M.S. Window’s operations, and ideally the employee will have a basic understanding of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Minimum of (2) years experience managing employees.
