Twelve is a new kind of chemical company built for the climate era. Our breakthrough technology eliminates emissions by turning CO2 into essential products. We are a team of scientists, engineers and problem solvers on a mission to fundamentally shift the way the world addresses climate change and lead the transition to a fossil free future with our carbon transformation technology.
In this role, you will have an impact on Twelve’s mission to lead the way to a fossil free future through carbon transformation. You will be a member of the Stack Testing Team within the MEE Area, which is responsible for developing and testing the performance of membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs) for Twelve’s electrochemical CO2 reduction stack. You will explore performance testing under a range of operating conditions and provide diagnostic analysis for failure mechanisms. As an Electrochemical Test Engineer on the Stacks Testing Team, you will make an impact by understanding the failure mechanisms of the stacks.
In this role, you will be collaborating with the team to design, perform and maintain experiments as well as extract data for Twelve’s CO2 electrolyzer failure analysis. This will entail setting up stacks for electrochemical tests and analyzing the data, managing stack test stands to consistently produce quality data, and taking part in experimental planning meetings. We are seeking a detail focused engineer with relevant project experience who believes in Twelve’s mission.
Manage, troubleshoot, and maintain electrochemical stack test stands
Analyze, summarize, and interpret stack performance and test stand data
Communicate issues and findings that are encountered during testing to the team in real time.
Synthesize complex and large amounts of data into digestible and impactful reports
Share data across cross-functional teams and participate in experimental planning and technical discussions.
Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) or relevant reports for test or equipment operations when needed.
Champion safety in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
You have a bachelor’s degree in chemistry/chemical engineering, physics, or a relevant field.
You have demonstrable hands-on project experience working in a research or industrial lab setting.
You are highly attentive to detail, with strong organizational and communication skills.
You are able to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work with minimal supervision.
You are proficient with MS Office and/or Google Suite products, and experienced with data analysis software.
You have the ability to lift 40 lbs. as required for cell assembly.
