Pharmacist - Clinical Pharmacy Manager Job Type:
Full Time Job Category: Pharmacist Clinical Licensure Required: Pharmacist Position Summary: The Pharmacist Advisor of the Clinical Program Oversight department is responsible for facilitating the strategy and vision of enterprise business initiatives that require clinical program oversight support with a geriatric focus as well as leading departmental projects that support the Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) Committee process. The Pharmacist Advisor will coordinate current department projects in addition to spearheading new strategic projects under the guidance of the Director of Clinical Operations. As a Pharmacist Advisor will be the subject matter expert for the geriatric focused clinical programs (i.e. Clinical Interventions, Utilization Management [UM], Therapeutic Interchange, Health Management, etc.) and will be responsible for ensuring the external review of all specialty pharmacy clinical programs at the concept phase and all current clinical programs on an annual basis or as deemed necessary to ensure regulatory compliance (i.e. Center for Medicare & Medicaid [CMS], ACHC, and URAC).
As a Pharmacist Advisor of the CPO dept, you will participate and aid in the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) program development and regulatory compliance for accreditation standards and in the Omnicare Newsletter and Training program development. Serve as a liaison in Clinical Development, Specialty Development, and other areas regarding clinical issues by communicating timely and relevant clinical information, and assisting the Director of Clinical Operations. You will also be responsible for initiating and leading key projects and meetings within the department (i.e. SOP’s, Policy and Procedures, etc.) as well as training new staff and mentoring junior colleagues.
Required Qualifications: * 2 years experience in Specialty Pharmacy * Demonstrated experience in documenting procedures and action steps and effectively communicating goals as well as educating/training work teams to achieve results. *Prior experience with on-line literature retrieval and evidence-based medicine. *Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask under minimal supervision and with frequent distractions. *Must be able to work with tight deadlines and competing priorities. *Ability to learn new concepts quickly and apply them creatively. *Excellent attention to detail in proofreading documents for accuracy, spelling, grammar, and content. *Confidence in articulating issues and recommendations to management. *Ability to lead a project from planning to execution by working collaboratively across functional teams in varied business units. *Must have proven ability to work in a collaborative environment and influence others within and outside of the respective department. *Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point. *Ability to effectively train new staff members, provide ongoing training for staff on new processes, and
mentor junior colleagues. *General knowledge of concepts of formulary, Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committees, and clinical programs. Preferred Qualifications: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) Post Graduate Pharmacy Residency 5 years + related experience Project Management and Specialty Pharmacy Education: *CA Registered Pharmacist (or within 6 months of start if out of state) *Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy with comparable clinical experience *Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
