Overview of the Store Associate (Key Holder) Role
As a Key Holder, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Store Manager in the day-to-day operations of our retail store. You will ensure that our customers have an exceptional shopping experience while maintaining a well-organized and efficient store environment.
Daily Responsibilities
1. Customer Service:
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with product inquiries, purchases, and returns.
- Resolve customer complaints and issues in a professional and friendly manner.
- Offer product knowledge and advice to help customers make informed decisions.
2. Sales and Merchandising:
- Assist in achieving sales targets and goals set by the Store Manager.
- Participate in visual merchandising and ensure the store is well-stocked and organized.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to the Store Manager.
3. Team Leadership:
- Lead by example and motivate the store team to deliver excellent customer service.
- Train and onboard new team members.
- Assist in scheduling and managing staff shifts.
4. Store Operations:
- Open and close the store as needed, ensuring security measures are followed.
- Handle cash and POS transactions accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the store.
5. Reporting and Administration:
- Generate daily sales and inventory reports for review by the Store Manager.
- Assist in managing store expenses and budgets, as needed.
Requirements
- Note, this is a part-time position (approximately 20-25 hours per week)
- Previous retail or customer service experience, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A passion for culinary and kitchen products is a plus.
- Part-time associates are expected to have open availability, including weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business. All associates must be available for annual inventory and entire holiday season (November and December).
- As a key holder, you must be available for opening/closing store during the week, including weekends and holidays.
- Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a college degree is a bonus.
- Must be able to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and mobilize medium to large items, up to 50 lbs., while utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
- Employment in this role will be contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
