Maintaining an unwavering commitment to serve low-income communities of color since 1986, BAC is Brooklyn’s oldest nonprofit prevention, treatment, and health service organization. We provide comprehensive HIV/AIDS, mental health and substance abuse-related social services to under-served racial and ethnic minority communities in the borough.
JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Director of Mental Health Services, the Evening and Weekend Clinical Supervisor position is on-site and provides walk-in hours coverage as well as oversight of the Mental Health clinic during evening and weekend hours. This Clinical Supervisor will be responsible for providing clinical supervision and oversight to a team of clinicians, fee for service clinicians and interns, ensuring that all services are provided in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures. Your role will involve providing guidance, support, and supervision to ensure the smooth operation of our facility.
Possible Position Schedules:
- Shift#1: Monday - Thursday 6-8pm & Saturday 9AM-5PM or
- Shift#2 Monday -Thursday 5-8pm & Saturday 9AM -5PM
The candidate should also be able to attend weekly clinic meetings on Wednesday Mornings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Provide clinical supervision and oversight to a team of clinicians, interns and fee for service providers
- Incident review, discharge planning coordination and oversight.
- Work with clients and their families on treatment adherence issues with medications and maintaining appointments.
- Conducts assessment/reassessments of client service needs and priorities every 90 days;
- Develops (in conjunction with client) appropriate treatment plans based on assessment.
- Case conferencing with mental health providers to determine goals/objectives, activities and who will perform needed tasks related to mental health issues for client and family.
- Collaborative and concurrent documentation required.
- Supervision of therapists and student interns as assigned.
- Running reports for compliance and QA oversight.
- Other duties assigned as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong individual and group counseling skills.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Spanish speaking a plus.
Work Experiences:
- MINIMUM: Three (3) years post-graduate experience working with populations that have a history of substance use, D.V issues, Criminal Justice, mental illness, chronic homelessness, and/or HIV/AIDS. Clinical internships provided to similar population can be counted towards the post graduate experience- if it can be documented
- MINIMUM: One (1) year experience supervising staff
- Proven experience understanding and demonstrated ability to generate revenues for clinical services.
- Experience with Medicaid/manage care and other types of client billings.
- Experience working in the community and knowledge of community resources.
- Strong written and oral communication skill is necessary.
- Must be reliable and consistent with attendance and punctuality to work.
- Knowledge of Office of Mental Health (OMH) regulations is required.
- Knowledge of Evidenced Based Practices (Seeking Safety, Motivational Interviewing, Health Belief Model, CBT)*
EDUCATION:
- MINIMUM: Masters in Social Work or related field.
LICENSURE:
- LMSW is required, or LCSW strongly preferred.

Pay: $39.00 - $42.00 per year
