MCCPS is seeking a dynamic, caring, and compassionate teacher of special education to provide 1:1 individualized support and academic instruction for the 2024-2025 school year. We offer a collaborative teaching environment with a strong culture of teamwork, support, and professional development opportunities.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develops a modified curriculum which is in alignment with state frameworks to a student with intellectual impairments. Provides individualized instruction in an intensive learning environment with frequent hands-on practice in a variety of settings in a consistent manner. Has familiarity in identifying access points for student portfolio development.
Has regular collaboration with grade level teaching team, Integrated Arts teachers, related service providers, and building staff to respond to student needs for modification. Based on IEP Team meeting and collected data, writes measurable IEP goals for students on caseload.Collects data, monitors progress and writes quantitative progress reports specific to goals and benchmarks at the end of each trimester. Develops and implements curriculum and collects and analyzes student work in preparation for MCAS Alternative Assessment to assure progress and development. Participates in Special Education Department meetings and faculty meetings.
Performs other related duties as required by the Head of School. Education, Certifications & Licensure: Masters degree in related field preferred.DESE Certification in severe special needs required.Skills & Experience: Previous experience delivering 1:1 and small group instruction. ABA experience is preferred. Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be highly motivated and organized. Must be able to complete tasks on time and accurately.Must be able to pass a CORI, SORI, and Fingerprint background check.
