Job Description
Job Title: Assistant Store Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Work hours 10:00am to 10:00pm (up to 8 hours/Day)
Full-Time: 40 hours/week
All Employees work by shift schedule within work hours.
General Position Summary
This position is responsible for managing all store activities for the purpose of increasing sales and realizing profit.
Duties include supervising and directing staff, and assures that all procedures are handled promptly and correctly.
In addition, this position performs customer service at store site to ensure that customers are satisfied, and their needs are fulfilled.
Essential Job Functions
STORE MANAGEMENT
Prepares an annual budget, directs sales forecasting activities, establishes budget and sets performance goals
accordingly.
Monitors and controls all expense including staff expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements.
Responsible for overseeing the work activities of entire store and monitors performance of the store to ensure the goals are achieved.
Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
Manages and maintains all merchandises purchased to ensure the qualities are met in accordance with the
Company standard.
Resolves customer complaints or concerns regarding sales, products, services, or other matters in a prompt and
professional manner.
Oversees the inventory activities and maintains certain inventory levels are met.
Coordinates sales promotion activities and manages prices of each merchandise.
Directs and coordinates all activities of store clerks, and supervises employees engaged in sales work.
Monitors staff work activities and provides directions according to the Company policy, assists and trains as
needed.
Assures work practices meets company standard and follow the compliance.
Provides direction to employees regarding operational and procedural issues.
Plans and prepares work schedules and assigns employees to specific duties; manages subordinate employee’s
work hours as well as attendance/absences.
Responsible for ensuring that all financial and personnel/payroll related administrative duties are completed
accurately, on time and in accordance with the Company policies and procedures.
Conducts hiring interviews, and is responsible for training newly hired employees.
Prepares activity reports of the entire store and provides them to the management.
Ensures that all organization activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal
regulations and laws governing business operations.
Manages all related forms such as Written Agreement and receipts, etc.
Manages all activities of receiving and sending orders of merchandises as well as related items. Contacts suppliers as needed.
Ensures a safe working and customer environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents; Informs and reports any incidents occurred immediately to the management.
Ensures that the proper security procedures are in place to protect employees, customers as well as company assets.
Continuously provides training to all subordinate, both current and new, to ensure the quality of the store operations are kept in line with the Company’s standard.
Develops employees by providing feedback, establishes performance goals, and conducts performance appraisals.
Provides ideas to the management on how to retain employees.
Upholds company and operational standards for the retail store, including the arrangement of displays and cleanliness.
Plans, structures, and ensures staff understanding of the store and product layout.
Wears appropriate attire and maintain a professional personal appearance in accordance with the company dress code.
Informs customers of the store’s return and replacement policy, product and pricing.
Assists and supports other duties in order to keep the store operations smoothly.
IN-STORE SALES
Drives sales by interacting with customers to provide a genuine and welcoming experience.
Applies fashion knowledge to make product recommendations and style customers.
Provides assistance at the fitting room, when appropriate.
Processes transactions, which may include mobile POS systems.
Processes apparel items and replenishes the sales floor as needed.
Perform all point of sale tasks, including counting cash and customer purchases.
Offer outstanding customer service.
Work on interior and window displays and store merchandising.
Responsible for Opening/closing procedures.
OTHER & MISCELLANEOUS
Seeks constant improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes.
Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Management.
Maintains high ethical standards in the workplace.
Reports all irregular issues and problems to management for solution.
Maintains good communication with management, office staff members and outside contacts.
Complies with all company policies and procedures.
Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working area.
