Moore & Van Allen PLLC, a dynamic and fast-growing full-service law firm of more than 400 attorneys and professionals, is seeking an experienced Reporting & Financial Analyst to join its Charlotte, NC office. The Financial Analyst is responsible for delivering accurate and timely reporting solutions and analyses to the Accounting department and firm management. They play a crucial role in preparing various performance reports, conducting analyses, and developing reporting solutions using Excel and other business intelligence tools. Proficiency in SQL is required for creating and maintaining functions essential for reporting tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly firm and team performance reports; supporting Sr. Reporting & Financial Analyst in completion of monthly Management Committee reporting binder; Team Leader reporting at the direction of the Manager of Reporting and Business Systems, Director of Finance, and/or CFO.
- Develop reporting and analyses as assigned including hourly demand, and performance analysis; weekly in-office attendance reporting; etc. using Excel or other BI solutions.
- Proficient with Structured Query Language (SQL) to create and assist in maintaining functions, stored procedures, SQL jobs, and other programming used with SSRS Reporting and dynamic notification delivery.
- Assist with ‘ad hoc’ reporting requests through direction from the Manager of Reporting and Business Systems, Director of Finance, and/or other firm management.
- Provide MS Excel skill expertise for firm users including but not limited to Accounting and other departments.
- Assist in preparation and data collection for annual survey submissions including diversity reporting, etc.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Data Analytics required.
- Demonstrated experience with legal billing software and transactional databases required
- 4-6 years’ experience in working in a professional services firm, required; Law firm preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and pivot tables.
- Experience with SQL for data manipulation and reporting.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools and reporting platforms (e.g., SSRS) is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm or 9:00am – 6:00pm; May need to occasionally work more than the standard 40 hours per week to accomplish essential duties of the position.
