Established in 1958 as the North Essex Child Guidance Clinic, Northwest Essex Community Healthcare Network, Inc. (NECHN) began serving children with serious emotional disturbance and their families. Since that time, we have grown into an agency offering a comprehensive range of services, which include Outpatient Treatment, Co-Occurring Treatment, Addiction Services, Case Management, Crisis Services, and Partial Care. Northwest Essex is also one of seven “Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics” (CCBHC) selected by the N.J. Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services.

POSITION SUMMARY: The clinician works with youth/young adults and families to help maximize their potential in their wellness and recovery process. The clinician completes Biopsychosocial Intake Assessments and determines client's initial diagnosis. He/she develops and updates a comprehensive treatment/recovery plan. The clinician may utilize the modalities of individual family, play/art therapy and group therapy with consumers and their families . The clinician will often coordinate services with schools, pediatricians and hospitals. The clinician utilizes Evidence-Based and best practices such as Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. The clinician documents service delivery, progress notes, group notes, consumer attendance and provides other documentation in a timely fashion as directed by supervisor. Clinicians must have an LCSW or an LPC and are expected to perform these duties independently. The clinician will perform other duties, when needed, as assigned by their supervisors.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling (Required)
- LCSW, or LPC (Required)
- Must have prior experience providing mental health treatment services to adults, children and adolescents.
- The above and 2 years experience as treatment provider.
- Experience providing outpatient therapy to consumers.
- Spanish Speaking a plus but not required
