D.O.T clinic is seeking an honest, reliable, self motivated, goal driven, professional, team oriented, multi-tasking, energetic front desk/medical assistant who can work both the front desk and back office. You will be the first point of contact and manage the necessary aspects of the patient's needs before they see the doctor.
MA's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, scheduling appointments, managing paperwork/ files, drug testing & alcohol testing, taking vitals, DOT vision exam, DOT hearing test, and providing information to patients and/or their liaisons. Must have reliable transportation and be willing to wear a mask over their nose and mouth for the entirety of the time they are in the office.
**Job can be a temporary position for 3 months or part-time, but looking for a full-time perm candidate. Temp to perm or Permanent (long term)
Responsibilities
- This position involves organizing workload and handling busy reception and DOT areas.
- Scheduling appointments
- Taking payments, batching out at the end of the day
- Daily morning huddles with Dr. and end of day reporting
- Perform Clinical Intake with patients to include taking and recording vital signs and patient history
- Complete occupational health testing including such services as urine drug screens, breath alcohol testing, specimen collection, exam preparation
- Complete patient referrals and patient callbacks daily
- Prepare rooms according to protocol, Clean exam/procedure rooms and equipment between patient visits
- Proper, concise and complete EMR documentation and paper based documentation for all assessments and procedures
- Manage inventory of supplies; restock exam/procedure rooms
- Maintain clinical supplies
- Must be willing and able to call various businesses in the area to expand working relationships with the clinic (bonuses included for this task)
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a medical assistant training program and/or minimum 1 year experience in a medical atmosphere and with customer service
- Excellent customer service skills, medical front and back office skills (including but not limited to data entry, the ability to use medical terminology, knowledgeable of HIPAA regulations, ability to take vital signs and the ability to communicate with other medical facilities) and phone skills are a must.
- Attention to detail and a positive attitude are essential.
- Candidate must be super on the telephone, detail-oriented, team-oriented, a well organized thinker, energetic person with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment .
- The candidate must also have at least intermediate level with Microsoft office suite
Preferred Qualifications
- Be familiar with electronic medical health records(EHR).
- Must be willing and able to call various businesses in the area to expand working relationships with the clinic (bonuses included for this task *more explanation in interview)
- Proficient communication with various medical offices
- Minimum typing skills, 40 wpm.
Job Types: Part-time, Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
