Overview:
An iconic restaurant located in the heart of New York City is seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager. The General Manager will oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, including staff management, customer service, financial performance, and ensuring adherence to company policies and standards.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in upper management in high volume restaurants, have exceptional leadership skills, and consistently bring a passion for delivering strong operations results. Must be passionate about leading and teaching approachable hospitality and fostering a successful and thriving workplace. Must be authorized to work in the US.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead by example, motivating and inspiring staff to deliver excellent service.
- Recruit, train, and supervise restaurant staff, including servers, bartenders, and kitchen team members.
- Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to staff.
Operational Excellence:
- Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service and guest satisfaction.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures to maintain consistency and quality.
- Address any issues or concerns that arise during shifts, resolving them promptly and effectively.
Customer Service:
- Ensure that guests receive exceptional service and have a memorable dining experience.
- Handle guest inquiries, comments, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the restaurant.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage budgets, including labor and operating expenses, to achieve financial targets.
- Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.
- Analyze financial reports and make data-driven decisions to optimize restaurant performance.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards and sanitation practices.
- Uphold company policies and procedures, including alcohol service guidelines and employee conduct.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to restaurant operations.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of GM experience in restaurant management in a high-volume environment. At least 5 years of experience in full service restaurants.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Solid understanding of restaurant operations, including food and beverage service, kitchen management, and customer relations.
- Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
