Job Title: Shop Hand
Department: Shop Operations
Supervisor: Shop Foreman
Summary
The Shop Hand is responsible for helping to repair and maintain machinery, mechanical equipment, and facilities. We are looking for hard workers in the Houston area who want to learn and grow within our organization. We are looking for individuals that are motivated, willing to learn and excited to be a part of a growing team. While being able to pass an extensive background check with drug testing. This position is 5 days a week, in person at our shop near Bush International Airport(IAH), and workdays are normally 8 hour shifts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
· Cleaning and winding of hose reels.
· Cleaning, oiling, and greasing machines and equipment.
· Help to keep shop/work areas, tools, and equipment clean.
· Carrying tools and equipment between storage areas, staging areas and company trucks/trailers.
· Disassembling and reassembling machinery. Assist with repairs and maintenance as requested.
· Loading and unloading of work trailers.
· Utilizing equipment maintenance forms and procedures to ensure all work is properly completed.
· Perform other routine shop duties.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no immediate supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
Language Skills
Can read and interpret documents such as: safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Capable of speaking effectively with groups of customers or employees of our organization.
Mathematical Skills
Must be ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure while using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Be able to compute rate, ratio, and percentage. Demonstrate the ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Skills
Exemplify the ability to apply common sense and the understanding to carry out instructions, furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Display the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and mobile devices.

It is common to climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl while on a job. Shop Hands are frequently required to walk and are occasionally required to sit. They must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Pay range: $13.00-$17.00
