The Staff Development Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing staff development programs and activities for the Southern Utah Veterans Home. The Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Nursing and other department heads to ensure that all staff members receive the necessary training and education to provide high-quality care to our residents.
- Develop and implement staff development programs and activities that meet the needs of the Southern Utah Veterans Home.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify training needs and develop training plans for staff members.
- Coordinate and conduct training sessions for staff members, including new employee orientation, in-service training, and continuing education.
- Maintain accurate records of staff training and education.
- Ensure that all staff members are up-to-date on required certifications and licenses.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in staff development and training.
- Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to staff development and training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (prefered), education, or a related field
- Experience in long-term care or healthcare preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
