Position summary:

Provide nursing care consistent with licensing standards to patients admitted to the Central Receiving Facility (CRF) under the Baker (mental health) or Marchman (substance use) Act.

Assess patient for medical and behavioral health needs.
- Understand and execute admission, treatment, seclusion and restraint, and discharge orders.

Provide medical care in response to physician orders and treatment plan.
- Checks, records, or arranges the completion of vital signs, as appropriate. Follows-up with individual served when vital signs are outside normal parameters.

Provide medical and/or behavioral health education and information to individuals served.
- Maintain comprehensive records in the electronic medical record (EMR). This includes nursing assessment, unplanned interventions, and informational and progress notes.
- Participate in development of the treatment plans, in treatment team discussions, and screenings.
- Directs and monitors co-workers; including LPN, Behavioral Health Technicians, Patient Safety Technicians, etc.
- Performs audits and provides feedback to leadership regarding quality improvements, cost saving initiatives, and efficiencies.
- Attends monthly nursing in-service meetings.

Maintains current knowledge of policies, procedures, and protocols at the CRF.

Minimum Requirements:
-
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license.
-
Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a psychiatric setting.
- Ability to pass a level II Background clearance and drug test.
- Valid FL drivers’ license, insurance, and safe driving record.
- Dependable transportation (registered, safe operating conditions, etc.).
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks.

Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to grip, bend, squat, and crawl.
- Ability to maneuver patient’s weight.
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.

Must maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct, while adhering to agency policies and procedures.

Ability to use a computer.
