JOB TITLE: Lead Paralegal
LOCATION: Dallas Office
Overview (Primary Purpose):
The primary purpose of this position is to lead a team of employees in the Litigation Department to meet the goals and objectives set out by the Management team. The work is part of the Dallas Office Litigation Team and reports directly to the Litigation Manager.
The Lead Paralegal must have a positive attitude, exceptional people skills, the ability to listen and follow instructions, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a professional demeanor. This position will interact with employees, attorneys/managers, court personnel, private process servers, and the sheriff’s department.
Describe the essential functions of the job:
1. Responsible for individual and assigned teams’ caseload review, evidence requests, site visit packets, and document production.
2. Assists the Litigation Manager with coordinating, organizing, and communicating matters related to the caseload, the Dallas County docket, and the out-of-county docket.
3. Reviews and manages Oracle Workflow Queues and reports.
- Will be constantly looking for development needs and continuous improvement for the entire team.
- Monitoring, organizing, and coaching the team daily.
6. Assists the Litigation Manager with implementing work plan(s) for the litigation department.
7. Prepares reports to summarize accomplishments of the team by client and firm goals; complete periodic review of the team’s assignments with litigation management to ensure deadlines are being met;
8. Provides peer training to team members in the department;
9. Responsible for coordinating training schedules with the Litigation Manager;
10. Primary point of contact for court personnel and will act as the point of contact for clients in the absence of the assigned client liaison(s) to record information/request and forward the same to client liaison, paralegal, and litigation manager;
11. Responsible for effectively communicating company goals, procedures, policies, and deadlines to the assigned team.
12. Other duties as assigned by Management.
Describe the physical demands & work environment:
The position requires sitting at a computer desk, standing, bending, copying, and filing documents. This position may also require lifting files or boxes not to exceed 10 lbs.
Knowledge/Skills
· Three (3) years of work experience in civil litigation
· Litigation and tax, government, or real estate experience preferred
· Experience with e-filing and electronic data management of legal files
· Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) is a plus
Abilities Necessary to Succeed:
Ø Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills are essential, including proficiency in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Oracle, E-file System, and Web Center Content.
Ø Organization: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and complete them within the stated deadlines.
Ø Written and Verbal Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Must communicate information effectively to court personnel, the litigation management team, the attorney/manager team, and employees within the stated deadlines/guidelines.
Ø Discretion: Ability to maintain confidentiality in discussions with Management regarding the team or team members and keep the Manager informed on potential personnel matters.
Ø Leadership: Ability to organize and complete projects with minimal supervision; committed to creating a positive work environment by demonstrating respect to employees, attorneys/managers, clients, and court contacts; possess creativity and a collaborative spirit while maintaining focus on tasks; remain calm during stressful situations; take responsibility when failures occur, and fulfill the vision of the Litigation Department while inspiring others to strive for excellence.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $62,400.00 - $68,640.00 per year
