Position Overview
The Used Equipment Manager reports to the Director of Assets. The incumbent is charged with monitoring and maintaining the proper mix of used equipment at the levels and guidelines given to him by the Director of Assets.

Reporting & Supporting Positions:
The position oversees all aspects of the used equipment fleet from purchasing equipment, quoting equipment and selling equipment to wholesale partners. The Used Equipment Manager works supports the sales team with identifying used equipment options for our customers.

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Market Strategy Plan yearly to market used.
- Evaluate all forklift trade-ins and establish trade-in values. Trade in evaluations are performed by information provided by the sales team or a physical on-site inspection.
- Evaluate trade-in when they come in as to repair of the unit for retail sale, or wholesale the unit as is.
- Direct service department to achieve repair quotes to repair units for retail sale.
- Oversee all repairs being done in shop and monitor cost overruns.
- Prepare picture and sales prices for online marketing of available used equipment.
- Prepare print out for machine salesmen giving a list of all available units with retail price of each.
- Identify and maintenance relationships with MLA used equipment managers and wholesale partners.
- Provide detail specifications of each trade-in unit to ensure proper specification are noted in the business system.
- Monitor lease returns to ensure they are picked up or sold at expiration of lease.
- Work with financing partners on expired leases as to the disposal of the units in our territory.
- Proactively identify and purchase units for used retail sale opportunities.
- Work with the Contract Manager to pay invoices on work orders to outside vendors
- Audit Shop Invoices to insure they are billed correctly.
- Inspection used retail units before delivering to the customer
- Travel to all branches in Texas and Oklahoma to monitor used equipment inventory
Minimum Education, Skills, and Professionalism
- Associates degree or higher is preferred or 2-5 years equivalent industry experience
- Strong organization, analytical, and reasoning skills
- Strong analytical skills, demonstrated ability to pay close attention to details, excellent accuracy and completeness, and adherence to strict deadlines.
- High level of computer literacy with Excel spreadsheets, database software and/or business systems.
- Ability to communicate in English (orally and in writing).
- Ability to take initiative, meet deadlines, multitask, and work independently
- Must be reliable, trustworthy, and an advocate for Darr Equipment.
- EET experience is preferred.
Working Conditions
The job is located in an office environment 50% of the time. The balance of the time is spent in the shop, inspecting units on the yard, inspecting units on site, and traveling to different locations to market wholesale units. The incumbent needs to meet the demands of getting on and off equipment.
This position requires one to operate in a professional office environment. Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. This position is a sedentary position that requires 8 hours of sitting at a desk in a climate controlled environment with frequent computer, mouse, 10 key touch, photocopier, scanner, and phone work.
