POSITION SUMMARY: The Scheduling Coordinator ensures quality patient care by providing exceptional customer service throughout each step of the patient communication process. This individual is responsible for practice success by managing and optimizing patient schedules and through accurate collection and verification of demographic data.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES:
- Ensures Quality of Care and Exceptional Customer Service through:
- Thorough and accurate patient communication and patient education
- Answers incoming calls and handles accordingly
- Completes appointment reminder calls and letters promptly to maximize schedules
- Triages ocular emergencies by following appropriate triage protocol
- Explains the purpose and expectations of the appointment
- Ensures Practice Success in each patient encounter through:
- Appointment capture
- Schedule management and optimization
- Data collection, verification, and accuracy
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Previous medical office experience is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT (per ADA guidelines):
- Physical Activity: Talking, Hearing.
- Physical requirements: Sedentary work. Involves sitting most of the time.
- The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
