We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team!
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will serve as a key member of the patient care team in an ambulatory setting. The LPN will work closely with providers across multiple specialties as well as with other clinical and administrative staff to deliver an exceptional patient experience that contributes to positive health outcomes for patients and a work culture of kindness, inclusion, integrity, accountability, and excellence.
Essential Duties:
- Greet patients and assist administrative staff and MAs with coordinating patient flow to and from exam rooms and treatment areas.
- Perform vital signs and document in patient’s electronic record.
- Gather and populate MU data on patient’s electronic record (allergies, medications, fam. history, etc.).
- Administer injections (subq, IM and intradermal) as ordered by providers.
- Perform phlebotomy/venipuncture as ordered by providers and prepare specimens to be transported to lab.
- Perform EKGs as needed.
- Perform point of care testing as trained, maintain logbooks.
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures and examinations.
- Develop and maintain educational material for patients and provide individual instruction as needed.
- Oversee restocking of supplies in exam rooms and treatment areas. Assists as needed.
- Oversee completion of daily refrigerator/freezer logs. Assists as needed.
- Clinical order entry as needed.
- Follow and adhere to Infection Prevention & Control guidelines as appropriate. Responsible for decontamination, disinfection and cleaning methods of procedural equipment. Performs and documents quality assurance processes.
- Ensures overall condition of treatment room is clean and safe according to practice standards. Escalates any issues to Environmental Services, Engineering, Central Sterile, Materials Management, etc. and ensures follow through.
- Ensures inventory and adequate supply of personal protective equipment and other hygiene products in patient treatment areas.
- Provide coverage of other clinical staff as needed.
- Assists Supervisor and/or Manager with daily staffing schedules, time off requests, same day absences, etc. Helps to ensure adequate coverage and addresses and related issues as directed.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalency and graduated from an accredited Practical Nursing program required.
- 2 years’ relevant experience.
- Current NYS LPN license in good standing required.
- Current BCLS/AED certification required.
- Must demonstrate proficiency of OSHA standards including disposal of biohazard waste.
- Strong proficiency in computer skills including, but not limited to, Electronic Health Systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Email systems, etc.
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 30 lbs. on occasion.
- Will provide coverage as requested throughout Primary Care practices (multiple sites and flexible schedule). Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Phlebotomy certification or training a plus.
- Preferred multi-specialty experience in a high-volume setting preferred.
- Prior EMR experience, EPIC preferred.

Pay: $58,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
