Position Description
JOB TITLE: Electrical / Instrumentation Technician
ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT: PCI Nitrogen Pasadena
DEPARTMENT: Maintenance
LOCATION: Pasadena, TX
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
All work involving and in connection with the assembling and disassembling where equipment is to be repaired and reassembled, installed or erected, repairing or maintaining, including inspection thereof, of all electrical equipment, apparatus, appliances or devices by which electricity is generated, utilized or controlled. All work involving and in connection with the assembling and disassembling where equipment is to be repaired and reassembled, installed or erected, repairing or maintaining, including inspection thereof, of all instrumentation equipment, apparatus, appliances or devices used for process control, pressure measurement, level and temperature control/measurement is utilized throughout the facility.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Journeyman must be a licensed electrician with an ISA Level 1 or NCCER Certification.
Electrical/Instrument apprentice: Licensed electrician who must complete a certified instrumentation training program within thirty (30) months, or obtain a Company approved certification ( ISA Level 1 or NCCER) with two years of on the job training.
Electrical/Instrument apprentice: Certified Instrument Technician either ISA level 1 or NCCER who is not a licensed electrician. Advancement to Journeyman will occur upon completion of a U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) approved electrical apprenticeship training program within sixty (60) months of first available open enrollment, or by obtaining a Company approved certification (NCCER) with two years of on the job training.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to: Electrical / Instrumentation Supervisor
Works with: Maintenance Craftsmen, Operators, Supervisors, Engineers and Managers.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
New installation and maintenance and repairs of all electrical and instrument equipment throughout the facility.
Sharing knowledge, skills and expertise with others for safe and efficient job performance.
Ability to read and understand prints.
Ability to work alone and with others.
Job requires wearing of respirator, ability to work on ladders, climbing stairs and to be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds under exposure to hot, wet and cold environmental conditions.
