POSITION SUMMARY
Provides direct care to patients in support of patient rehabilitation to promote patient independence, wellness,
and restoration of patient function.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists patients in completion of functional mobility tasks and activities of daily living (ADLs)
in coordination with therapy and nursing departments.
- Assists in the coordination and scheduling of rehabilitation activities. Transports patients as
scheduled to and from the treatment areas.
- Assists with maintaining the cleanliness of the treatment areas.
- Follows safety standards while performing patient-related duties: Uses good body mechanics,
uses safety belts on patients, carries out transfer procedures correctly.
- Initiates discussion based on observation with supervisor and other team members regarding
patients.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of patients, customers, and MFA information.
- Adheres to appropriate dress code for assigned center and work environment as per employee
handbook
- Ensures that written and oral communication is directed to appropriate personnel.
- Reports all instances of abuse or neglect or other concerns to management.
- Attends and participates in orientation, training, and in-service education, and staff meetings.
Ensures all mandatory training is completed on time.
- Shares information with others through explanation and demonstration.
- Remains professional in appearance, dependability and interactions with others. Follows
through on commitments.
- Acts with integrity on all matters. Demonstrates uncompromising adherence to ethical
principles and organizational values.
- Deals with individuals with a range of moods and behaviors in a tactful, personal manner.
Avoids intimidating, antagonizing or alienating people.
- Communicates effectively with all interested parties.
- Complies with pertinent laws, regulations, and MFA policies and procedures. Complies with
APTA code of ethics and State Practice Act.
- Performs duties in accordance with the MFA Corporate Compliance program.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by appropriate MFA management
PREREQUISITES, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
- Must have a valid CNA license.
- Sufficient verbal and written communication skills to perform the tasks required.
- Ability to communicate, comprehend, understand and write messages, and follow directions.
- Telephone skills, including message taking.
- Demonstrates effective problem-solving skills
