Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical lead Technician to oversee the maintenance and repair of our production machinery and equipment in a food manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both electrical and mechanical engineering, more so in electrical plus experience in managing a team of technicians. The Electro-Mechanical Lead technician will ensure the efficient and safe operation of all machinery, maintain equipment to the highest standards, and implement preventative maintenance programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)
Maintenance Management:
· Trouble-shoot, repair, oversee and manage the maintenance of all electrical and mechanical equipment in the production facility.
· Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
· Coordinate maintenance and repair activities with production schedules to minimize disruption to operations.
Team Leadership:
· Lead by example, supervise, and provide technical guidance to a team of electro-mechanical technicians, with more focus on electrical systems.
· Conduct performance evaluations, identify training needs, and provide professional development opportunities to team members.
· Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment, ensuring clear communication and accountability.
Troubleshooting and Repair:
· Diagnose and resolve complex electrical and mechanical issues with production machinery.
· Ensure timely and effective repairs, utilizing advanced troubleshooting techniques and best practices.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and emerging technologies.
Compliance and Safety:
· Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
· Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of equipment and facilities.
· Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Inventory Management:
· Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts and supplies to support maintenance activities.
· Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely availability of necessary parts and materials.
· Manage the budget for maintenance supplies and equipment.
Project Management:
· Lead and manage new projects related to equipment upgrades, installations, and modifications.
· Develop project plans, budgets, and timelines, and oversee project execution to ensure successful completion.
Documentation and Reporting:
· Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and repair history.
· Generate reports on maintenance performance, downtime, and other key metrics for management review.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
· Or Electrical Certification and Mechanical Certification with proven years of experience in industrial machinery.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in machine repairs and management within a production or manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
· Strong emphasis on electrical systems with extensive knowledge of industrial machinery, including PLCs, motor controls, robotics, VFD’s and automation systems.
· PLUS Proven experience in managing a team of technicians.
· Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
· Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements in a manufacturing setting.
· Strong organizational and project management skills.
· Effective communication and leadership abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
· Knowledge of manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to work in a production environment with exposure to noise, some dust, and varying temperatures.
· Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials as needed.
