Job Overview:
Sounds of Tomorrow is seeking a dynamic and creative Film and Media Instructor to lead our high school workshop. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in filmmaking, photography, writing, social media, and media ethics. They should have a passion for working with youth and the ability to inspire and mentor students. The instructor will prepare students to work on exciting projects and a monthly newsletter, equipping them with the skills necessary for all aspects of media production.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that cover fundamental and advanced filmmaking techniques, photography, writing, social media, and media ethics.
- - Teach students how to use cameras and understand key concepts such as ISO, white balance, shutter speeds, and apertures.
- - Guide students through the process of producing episodes of "Teen Talk," from concept development to final distribution.
- - Mentor students in creating a monthly newsletter, incorporating skills in writing, photography, and media ethics.
- - Foster a collaborative and creative environment, encouraging students to explore their artistic potential.
- - Provide hands-on training and support during filming, photography, and editing sessions.
- Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their skills.
- - Stay updated on current trends in filmmaking, photography, social media, and media ethics to ensure the curriculum remains relevant and engaging.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Film, Media Studies, Photography, or a related field.
- - Proven experience in filmmaking, with a portfolio or reels showcasing previous work.
- - Proficiency in using various types of camera equipment and software for video and photo editing.
- - Strong understanding of film production processes, including pre-production, production, and post-production.
- - Prior experience teaching or working with high school students is highly preferred.
- - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- - Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities to help students overcome challenges and achieve their project goals.
- - Experience in writing, social media management, and media ethics is a plus.
