Job Title: Wellness Director
Reports To: Executive Director
Summary:
The Wellness Director ensures delivery of quality assisted living services focused on
maximizing residents’ individual capabilities, implements and monitors effective
Assisted Living systems; ensures clinical/health services are in compliance with
community standards and State regulations, serves as a clinical resource for
Community staff, in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Galerie
Management standards.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Ensures quality resident care is consistently delivered in accordance with all
local, state and federal guidelines
- Collaborates and partners with physicians, pharmacy and other medical
professionals to promote quality care and independence for our residents
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training and leading all nursing associates
including, but not limited to Memory Care Director, Resident Care Coordinator,
CMAs, and Resident Assistants.
- Conducts comprehensive resident pre-admission, admission and quarterly
assessments in accordance with Galerie Management policy and procedures.
- Provide on-call support for the community
- Ensures compliance, efficiency and team’s understanding of policies and
procedures
- Maintains the standards of care practice within the community.
- Assess and monitor residents' health care needs through appropriate actions,
training, consultation, and delegation
- Ensures compliance with all Galerie Management policies and procedures that
govern clinical services.
- Order and maintain inventory of health-related supplies and equipment for
residents.
- Responsible for staff performance, staff recruitment, staff retention, and staff
development.
- Responsible for collaborating with other departments to ensure quality resident
care and staff development.
- Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing a budget process for
staffing and clinical services.
- Evaluates the quality and cost-effectiveness of staffing and services within the
goals of the community.
- Serves as spokesperson for caregiving matters and represents the community
with a professional demeanor.
- Participates in appropriate meetings and committees.
- Meets with families as requested.
- Completes all mandatory compliance, HIPAA and state and federal regulatory
training as required.

Education and Experience:
Maintain a current active Registered Nurse (RN) license OR Licensed Practical Nurse
(LPN) License. A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience and a minimum of 2 years
of people leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Exhibit good time management and organization skills.
- Possess the ability to handle complex issues.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Express compassion for residents, staff and guests on a consistent basis.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances
warrant such action.
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing administration practices and procedures as
well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing administration
functions in an assisted living community.
- Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals,
objectives, policies, and procedures of the resident care department.
