MetroGlobal is looking for a motivated AP Specialist to perform and manage the accounts payable processes across a portfolio of companies. MetroGlobal is a fast-growing firm that works in an “open door” AND “roll up your sleeves” environment. The AP Specialist will work with and report directly to the Controller and work cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Administration, Human Resources, and third parties. Daily tasks consist of processing vendor and contractor payments, analyzing expenditures, processing vendor bills, communicating with third parties on various matters, and assisting with the month-end accounting close.
Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, a good communicator, inquisitive, and most important - has an eye for detail! In this role, you are not only expected to support the existing processes, but also find efficiencies and scalable solutions to create continuous improvements.
This is a full-time position. Working hours will be Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:30pm ET. This is a hybrid role, requiring 4 days per week in our office in Bala Cynwyd, PA (switching to 3 days per week after 2-3 months).
Job Description:
- Managing preparation, execution, and recordkeeping for the accounts payable lifecycle
- Critiquing, troubleshooting and improving upon various processes related to accounts payable
- Vendor management
- Reconcile third-party statements to general ledger data (bank reconciliation, etc.)
- Work cross-functionally with different departments
- Navigate multiple systems and databases to analyze vendor and expense data
- Additional responsibilities such as ad hoc reporting and data/account analysis
- Administrative responsibilities associated with banking and credit cards
- Data entry
Qualifications:
- At least an associate degree preferred
- Attention to detail a must
- Positive attitude and commitment to personal and team growth
- High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality
- 2+ years of experience in accounting experience a plus
- Positive, open attitude with flexibility to work on different projects
- Experience with QuickBooks or other general ledger software
- Strong problem solving, analytical, and communication (both verbal and written) skills, comfortable on the phone
- Proficient in Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Must be able to work independently and prioritize responsibilities
