POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY
To provide staff and students with an attractive, comfortable, and safe environment in which to work and learn.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
The Maintenance I or Maintenance II employee shall demonstrate an aptitude for the successful performance of the tasks listed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Be assigned general maintenance responsibilities as needs dictate.
2. Make deliveries throughout the district, as needs dictate. (boxes, band equipment, etc.)
3. Assist maintenance II and/or maintenance III employees with their maintenance projects as needs dictate.
4. Perform record keeping and inventory to allow work orders to be completed in an accurate, efficient, economical, and quality manner.
5. Assist in loading and unloading of materials, equipment, and supplies from trucks.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES
1. Maintain a neat, clean personal appearance and wear district uniforms at all times when performing maintenance duties.
2. Perform emergency repairs as needed.
3. He/she must have a valid chauffeur’s license or ability to obtain one within 1 month of employment and also maintain a good driving record.
4. Perform other duties as assigned by the maintenance foreman or his/her designee.
5. Possess the ability to effectively communicate verbally, and in written form, with administrators, staff, and the community as needed.
MENTAL DEMANDS
Ability to maintain confidentiality and have the ability to reason and make appropriate decisions. Must be able to work well under pressure and negotiate conflict situations as they arise.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing these duties, the employee is regularly required to reach, climb, bend, stand, and walk. The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp and use tools and climb ladders, as well as to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk and hear.
The employee must normally lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift, move, push, or pull up to 100 pounds.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
The employee will occasionally work in conditions of extreme heat or cold.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Employment will be on an at-will basis for 12 months with two weeks vacation, beginning July 1, or from the time of employment for the duration of the school year with prorated vacation and/or personal leave. Each maintenance employee will be provided a work calendar showing the specific daily work schedule of the employee. The work calendar may be modified by the Board of Education at any time, as needs dictate.
Eight and one-half hours (including a 30 minute non-paid lunch period) will constitute a workday. The Assistant Superintendent will establish a definite daily schedule.
The yearly salary will be disbursed in twenty-four (24) equal payments.

Pay: $15.00 - $22.40 per hour
