We are a well-established, private general family practice located in downtown Winchester in need of a full time dental hygienist or two part-time hygienists.
The position we are looking to fill is for 32-37 hours per week, Mondays/Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays from 8:00am to 5:00pm and Fridays from 8:00am to 1:00pm. Friday availability is preferred but not mandatory. We are open to hiring one full-time hygienist for this position or two part-time hygienists who could split days.
The office is closed on Friday afternoons and weekends. Our office is open from 8:00am to 5:00pm with a one hour break for lunch. We are close to public transportation and have ample free parking.

We have long standing loyal patients who understand the importance of oral care and value their routine cleaning appointments with the hygienist. Our staff and our patients' health are our priority. With the emergence of COVID-19, we have installed a Jade Air filtration unit in each operatory room as well as one in the waiting room.
The candidate we are looking for must be a motivated team player with excellent clinical and communication skills. We seek an individual who is reliable, who has a friendly and caring chairside manner and a passion for their job.
The daily hygiene schedule averages 8 patients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Dental Hygienist, you will clean teeth and examine patient oral areas, head and neck for signs of oral disease. You will also record and review patient medical histories. Additional responsibilities and requirements of the Dental Hygienist include:
- Evaluates overall oral health, examining oral cavity for signs of periodontal disease or possible cancers, including sores, recessed & bleeding gums, and oral lesions.
- Performs dental and periodontal charting.
- Performs radiographic studies.
- Charts conditions of decay and disease.
- Follows through with oral hygiene procedures in accordance with treatment plans prescribed by the attending Dentist. Procedures may include: Prophylaxis, Periodontal Scaling, Root Planing, Debridement, Application of Fluoride Treatments, and Application of Protective Sealants.
- Educates patients by giving oral hygiene and post-operative instructions.
- Sharpens and sterilizes dental instruments
- Maintains dental hygiene supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level,
- anticipating needed hygiene supplies, placing orders for those supplies and verifying receipt of the supplies.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a licensed Registered Dental Hygienist with the state of Massachusetts
- Active CPR (BLS) Certification
- OSHA Certification
- Excellent working knowledge of overall dentistry and dental hygiene procedures, dental patient screening and medical history documentation.
- Proficiency in Eaglesoft and Schick dental software is preferred but willing to train.
