Registered Nurse/LPN/Paramedic duties and responsibilities:
- Prepare and administer medication based in the recommended treatment plan
- Start IV site, monitors infusions (initiate/discontinue, titrate)
- Adhere to aseptic technique.
- Correctly document on patient template with EMR, vital signs, treatment and medications, to include any side effects or reactions during administration of drug therapy.
-Maintains a safe and quiet environment for the patients.
- Serve as a resource person when the need arises.
- Complete charge tickets with correct dosing
- Make follow up infusion appointments.
- Keep Daily inventory of medications in stock and order medications and supplies as needed for future infusions. Open medication deliveries
- Maintains confidentiality of records.
- Assess and detect any changes in symptoms relating to patient health
- Oversee patient scheduling
-Triage patients
-Assist in other nursing duties as assigned.
Infusion Nurse Qualifications:
- Must be a registered nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Paramedic (EMT-P) in the state of South Carolina. Current State license required.
- Prior infusion experience preferred
- Competent with basic medical procedures related to nursing
- Proficient in IV, subcutaneous and intra muscular injections
- Ability to plan ahead and schedule accordingly
- Good verbal and written communication
- Team player and multitasker
- 1 to 2 years previous nursing experience in a medical setting preferred, with strong skills starting infusion site (ability to access ports preferred), drawing up medications, reconstituting medications and monitoring infusion patients.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in busy patient care setting
- (recommended) Knowledge of rheumatology and treatment options necessary to educate patients and ascertain problems.
- CPR Certified.
- ACLS certification preferred.
-Thorough knowledge of policies and procedures relating to position.
- Able to complete a complex variety of tasks in an organized manner.
