Position Summary
The maintenance technician will work with the Maintenance Manager and Lead Maintenance Technician to maintain functionality of all plant equipment. Using a variety of tools and skills they will assure the plant equipment functions at peak performance. They will install, maintain, and repair plant equipment and related facilities; work will include routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs completed in response to trouble tickets.
Essential Duties/Job Responsibilities (Job Duties)

Inspect and repair production machinery and building systems, troubleshooting, diagnosing, problem solving, and analyzing information to determine cause and repair options, including determining proper tools and equipment needed to accomplish the repair.

Repair or replace defective equipment or parts, safely and effectively using basic shop equipment and hand tools, including electric hand tools; clean/lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of the machinery.

Conduct routine preventative maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance and longevity of machinery and equipment.

Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and requests for maintenance support.

Properly maintain records of work orders and work schedules to ensure all jobs are completed on time.

Assist in the installation, setup, and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.

Follow all safety requirements and safety programs.

Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and organized fashion.

Attend all company-mandated meetings. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications/Skills:
-
Strong mechanical aptitude and solid understanding of numbers and math, including the use of rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.

Ability to be aware of details and accurate including while working under pressure.

Able to dismantle devises to access and remove defective parts, and balance and align equipment.

Ability to plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or schematic diagrams.

Ability to test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.

Strong knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair, and maintenance requirements.

Able to work with minimum supervision while working with excellent time management skills.

Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English, and communicate effectively and professionally with others.
Experience:
-
Minimum of three years previous maintenance experience in a light manufacturing setting required.

Maintenance experience with mechanical and electrical systems, hand tools.
-
Previous HVAC experience appreciated.
Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required; additional technical certifications or vocational training in maintenance or related field appreciated.

Will need to handle, install, position, and move materials with and without assistance.

Must be able to work in any areas of the plant, main office, and show room. The plant area will include machines that produce heat, hot plastic, and other like materials and will be active with people performing work.

Must be able to perform physical demands required to complete essential job functions. Physical demands may include frequent sitting, standing, walking, balancing, moving, bending, lifting to 50 lbs. on a regular basis, reaching with hands and arms, climbing, grasping, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. May be required to lift over 50 lbs with the assistance of another employee.

Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus to assist in trouble shooting and repair processes.

Excellent attendance and ability to work overtime when circumstances and/or workload require.
