Job Details – Medical Front Desk Receptionist
1. Greets patients upon arrival. Provides patients with appropriate paperwork to complete. Scan and file a current copy of the patient’s insurance card and drivers’ license. Schedules return appointments with appropriate provider.
2. Prepares encounter sheet with appropriate form needed for OB or Gyn visit.
3. Answers incoming calls and schedule appointments or transfers call to appropriate extension.
4. Check patient eligibility status. Verifies Medicaid through TMHP and the HMO website. Saves eligibility information in the chart.
5. Reschedule missed appointments. If unable to speak with the patient, then send an appropriate letter to reschedule appointment.
6. Collects any OB monthly payments, co-payments, deductibles, and old balances. Balances out all monies/credit card slips collected with what was entered into the system, closes and post batches at the end of each day. Provides end-of-day reconciliation to Practice Manager.
Requirements:
· Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical practice setting
· Knowledge of E-Clinical works patient portal
· Reliable transportation – required for travel between offices.
· Bilingual a plus
