Bartender Job Description
Purpose
Your primary function as a bartender is to take drink orders, prepare mixed drinks, and deliver basic service to patrons at the bar.
Essential Job Functions
Essential duties may include but are not limited to the following:
- Extend a warm and friendly greeting to all guests

Explain menu items and answer product question as raised by guests

Take food and drink orders from guests accurately and with a positive attitude

Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and guests

Maintain a clean bar

Set up/break down the bar for the shift
-
Relay the correct order to kitchen personnel or staff
-
Engage with guests in a friendly manner
-
Deliver food and drinks to guest in a timely manner
-
Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for bar and patrons
-
Assess bar customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
-
Collect payments from guest/Cash out servers at the end of their shift
-
Properly checks ID’s for any guest purchasing alcohol to confirm they meet the legal drinking age

Comply with all food and beverage regulations

Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails
-
Support other restaurant staff members by assisting with other tasks as needed
-
Must follow the guidelines stated in the grooming standards policy

Communicate openly, timely and honestly with subordinates, superiors and all others about plans, progress, and problems

To always be approachable, coachable and have a good positive attitude

Complete all side work which includes various cleaning tasks (busing tables, rolling silver, etc.)

- Must be at least 18 years of age

Must be able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance

Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following:
