Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs routine and preventative maintenance on production equipment
Requires employee to be proficient in use of basic hand tools and shop equipment
Requires employee to be able to interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
Troubleshoots electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems and mechanisms
Requires employee to have basic knowledge of control systems and automated equipment
Diagnoses problems with limited supervision and training
Identifies and requisitions replacement parts
Responsible for spare parts interfacing duties
Trains operators to perform basic maintenance on machinery
Passes acquired knowledge on to peers while working together as a team to repair equipment
Maintains good housekeeping requirements in department
Actively and aggressively supports 6S policies and practices
Directs others in performing assigned tasks as necessary in the absence of the department supervisor
Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
Perform other duties as assigned.
Must be able to operate a forklift, man lift, scissor lift, and be able to work at heights of 35 feet.
Close vision, Distance vision, Color vision, and some Depth Perception required.
Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily product/technical nature.
Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and materials.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with peers and production personnel
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute, rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to understand OHMS law
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability and willingness to learn new trade skills to better themselves and the company
Ability to operate a Forklift & Overhead crane, Computer, copier, fax machine, phone system, calculator
Other environmental or work conditions that arise in the course of employment
Basic computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc
Factory environment with noise and dust; not climate controlled
