Powell Electronics' Buyers interact with our company’s vendors to source and purchase parts for active needs and strategic inventory. As a well-established electronics parts distributor, our buyers work within company directives on cost containment and appropriate purchasing channels and constraints. Must be able to work well under pressure and process orders quickly and accurately within our SAP tracking system. Additionally, Buyers will resolve questions and complaints in support of company sales initiatives. This is an entry level corporate office position, with plenty of room to grow.
Responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining strong vendor relationships.
- Maintaining inventory levels within company goals, minimizing out of stock situations wherever possible.
- Sourcing parts and obtaining costs in support of sales goals.
- Aggregates current and expectations of customers’ demand and negotiates costs with vendors to maximize gross margin.
- Maintains the integrity of system information on cost, used by sales personnel to issue quotations.
- Resolves accounting and receiving department discrepancies, and validates customer rejections with vendors.
- Identifies critical expedite requests and escalates appropriately.
- Exhibits a strong commitment to customer service acting with a sense of urgency in responding to internal requests.

Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline is required.
- Good solid knowledge of the parts sourcing and purchasing process.
- Proficient with all business office tools including Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Teams.
- Excellent business communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in fast paced environment.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate technical details and requirements.
- Previous work history preferred.
- After fully trained, may become a hybrid remote position, incumbent must be able to travel to corporate office.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
