Lumenor Consulting Group is looking for a motivated self-starter to support a growing history group in our Environmental team. Preferred candidate would have demonstrated experience working with state DOT’s or other agencies related to infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate for this position is an enthusiastic environmental consulting professional with the desire to foster technical excellence, the ability to provide day to day project support and the desire to deliver for our clients. This candidate will be an integral part of our growth strategy and must be willing to perform work both in the office as well as in the field.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the successful completion of documentation and technical aspects of Section 106.
· Mentor junior historian staff members
· Support the development of scopes and budgets for overall project budgets specifically for history tasks
· Assist with the completion of documentation and technical aspects of NEPA/GEPA
· Data entry and tracking of project statuses and schedules from concept development through agency clearance.
· Manage field safety efforts
· Adhere to Lumenor’s quality program for project deliverables
· Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
· Master’s or higher degree in relevant field (history, historic preservation, heritage preservation or related field)
· 4+ years’ experience relevant professional experience
· Qualified applicant must meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Qualification Standards 36 CFR 61 as an Architectural Historian or Historian
· Expertise in the completion of Section 106 documentation including Historic Resource Survey Reports, Assessment of Effects, HABS/HAER documentation, MOAs/MOUs, and contributions to NEPA documents.
· Strong technical and scientific writing skills with experience preparing history reports and technical analysis
· Strong organizational skills and focus on attention to detail
· Provides quality reviews of reports prepared by others
Preferred Skills:
· Linear transportation or infrastructure experience – DOT experience
· GIS experience
· Section 4(f) experience
· Experience in meeting with and conducting consultations with the federal, state and local agencies
· Ability to understand and interpret preliminary and final roadway or construction plans
· Communicates effectively with clients and fosters a positive working relationship with the client
· Mentoring junior staff
