We are seeking a Registered Nurse (Mental Health Registered Nurse) to join our Stabilization and Crisis Unit (SACU) team of dedicated and compassionate individuals.

What you need to qualify
Possess a current, full, active unrestricted Oregon Professional Registered Nurse license.
AND
You must have a valid license to drive, and you must have and maintain an acceptable driving record.
AND
Have experience in a home health care, clinic setting, skilled facility, and/or medical surgical unit that included full range triage nursing.

Your duties at a glance
The
Stabilization and Crisis Unit
(SACU) operates 20 residential group homes along the I-5 corridor from Portland to Eugene and provides 24-hour residential care and supervision to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, often with co-occurring mental health diagnoses, whose support needs exceed the supports offered or provided by other community-based residential programs. We provide training and support for the purpose of assisting individuals in safely transitioning back to their home community. We model positive attitudes while offering health and medical supports, psychological services, emotional and behavioral support, life skills training, educational supports, recreational opportunities, and community integration. We are dedicated to providing the support necessary to maintain the quality of life, achieve the highest possible level of independence and promote social opportunities, which benefit the individuals and the community.
As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for ensuring all nursing and medical needs of individuals are met including.
Establishing relationships to maintain a holistic focus that includes physical, psychosocial, mental, emotional, social and spiritual components.
Collaborating with physicians, prescribers, respiratory therapists, nurse specialists, physical and occupational therapists, dieticians, pharmacists, and other members of community health care teams, individual’s families, guardians, and representatives, county case managers, as well as program team members, respiratory therapists, licensed practical nurses, and direct care staff.
Respiratory management, including tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and administering respiratory medications and treatments.
ADL’s, including toenail and fingernail care, peri-care, positioning, physical assistance, oral care, as needed and/or train or delegate tasks to direct care staff as appropriate.

Additional requirements
The Oregon Department of Human Services does not offer visa sponsorship. Within three days of hire, you will be required to complete the US Department of Homeland Security’s I-9 form confirming authorization to work in the United States. ODHS will use E-Verify to confirm that you are authorized to work in the United States.
Your driving record must meet the qualifications of the ODHS SACU Driving Policy and will be considered unacceptable for offenses, including, but not limited to any misdemeanor or felony traffic offense in the last 24 months.
Oregon Intervention System Certification (OIS) - Requiring you to physically hold an individual for safety while maintaining an approved restraint on clients which may involve quick movements, changes in physical positioning, and verbal communication with coworkers.
