The Catholic Cemeteries of Chicago are the largest private cemetery system in the United States with 47 cemeteries throughout Cook and Lake Counties in Illinois and are looking for dedicated, talented and compassionate individuals to become part of our team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Open and distribute incoming mail relating to installment accounts.
- Scan checks into the company bank site for the daily deposit.
- Import online customer payments into the accounting software program.
- Scan coupons into the accounting software program.
- Prepare summary of cemetery business for the cash control tape.
- Prepare sales distribution reports twice per month.
- File receipts.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least one year of satisfactory work experience in general clerical and accounting work, including bookkeeping, report preparation and customer service.
- Minimum high school graduate with some college courses or related training in bookkeeping and related subjects.
- Experience with computers, Microsoft computer programs, and accounting software.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time, bending or stooping occasionally, and navigate stairs on an occasional basis. File documents on an occasional basis.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues and accept supervision from all levels of management.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, sound judgment and trustworthiness.
- Ability to work the established hours of the position.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form with lot holders, the general public and all levels within the company.
- Practicing Catholic with a Catholic educational background and familiarity with Catholic teachings and traditions preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
