Under the supervision of the Controller, the Staff Accountant will be primarily responsible for the timely and accurate reconciliation of the University’s accounts.
Salary Grade O08 Essential Functions
- Reconciliation of bank accounts and various general ledger accounts.
- Prepares journal entries for non-recorded bank transactions.
- Provides a daily summary of available cash to upper management.
- Works with others to ensure timely application of funds.
- Maintains all aspects of fixed asset inventory.
- Produces ad hoc system reporting as needed.
- Provides backup for check preparation and postings.

Minimum Qualifications
- General working knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting.
- Prior bank account reconciliation experience.
- Solid organizational ability with great attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong commitment to continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with Ellucian Colleague or Banner a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object.
