We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our growing practice! This position is responsible for providing expert, professional care in an outpatient Cardiology Practice by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing care in cardiac diagnostic testing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responds to incoming patient treatment-related phone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
- Maintains & reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information. Posts tests and examination results.
- Assists physician with invasive/noninvasive procedures.
- Administers medications and monitors patients.
- Acquires and maintains knowledge of all equipment and procedures generally used in the care of patients in cardiac intervention.
- Provides general nursing care to patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
- Observes, records, and reports patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians. Dispenses medication as directed. Educates patient/family about diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition and maintenance of health and wellness.
- Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials. Ensures cleanliness. Prepares list of medical supplies needed. Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination and testing of patients.
- Ensures appointment preferences are given to patients in emergencies. Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination. Screens patients for appropriation information. Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
HOLTER MONITORS
- Recognizes EKG abnormalities and notifies physician as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Current Colorado RN license, previous experience in cardiology and exercise stress testing preferred; proficient in EKG interpretation
- ACLS and BCLS certified.
- Over 2 years experience.
- A bachelor's degree from a four-year college and/or a professional certification requiring formal education beyond a two year college.
- Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing.
- Extensive knowledge of cardiac disease and its treatment
- Must be comfortable treating acutely ill patients with hemodynamic and electrical instability
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, regulations and practices to give and evaluate patient care.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish/maintain a safe work environment.
SKILLS:
- Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care.
- Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions.
- Skill in preparing/maintaining records, writing reports and responding to correspondence.
ABILITIES:
- Ability to maintain quality control standards.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies.
- Ability to communicate clearly.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Combination of office and exam settings.
- Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
- Varied activities including standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting.
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extensive periods.
- Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 100 pounds requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.

Pay: $33.00 - $45.00 per hour
