About the Job: This is a unique opportunity for a qualified therapist to get their foot in the door of a phenomenal clinic (that rarely has job openings) with weekly mentorship from a seasoned Director-Therapist. This is a full time position. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for ethical and comprehensive care of children and their families to support their daily occupations and quality of life. This includes completing timely initial and progress evaluations, writing comprehensive treatment plans with measurable goals, providing weekly therapy appointments, and maintaining regular and positive contact and relationships with all members of a child’s family, school, and clinical team.
Responsibilities:
Complete clinical Evaluations, Reports, and weekly therapy appointments. Weekly therapy appointments include direct 1:1 therapy with child, brief follow-up Parent/Caregiver Meetings, and proper clinical documentation.
Provide collateral care as needed: School Observations, School Meetings, Parent Meetings, Treatment Plans, Therapeutic Goals, Progress Reports, Discharge Summaries
Review and respond to all email messages and phone messages from parents, doctors, teachers, and team clinicians for assigned clientele
Qualities/ Qualifications:
Enthusiasm for supporting children and their families/caregivers
Compassion and patience in all interpersonal interactions
Team-oriented and positive-action work ethic
Ability to alternate between work that requires high level social skills and work that requires quiet focus
Highly detailed oriented and superb organizational skills
Previous work experience as a Pediatric OT (3 to 5 years preferred but not required. New graduates welcome!)
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with children, families, colleagues and Director
Master Degree or Doctorate degree
Dependable, proactive, consistent, polite, hardworking
Commitment: 35-40 hours per week
Compensation: $60-80/hour, dependent on qualifications and experience
