The Health Coach ensures delivery of Pager Health's lifestyle coaching program, drives outcomes for participants, and addresses client expectations. The Health Coach provides clinical interventions in an efficient and effective manner ensuring that each interaction is valuable to the participant. The Health Coach assists with special projects and training and serves as backup support for the Member Services Team as needed. This role is for a 40 hour week, Saturday through Wednesday 1:30PM- 10PM CST shift schedule, including weekends and some holidays as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provides health coaching via all coaching modalities (chat, telephonic, secure message, onsite, etc.) with a focus on sustained member engagement.
- Assists members with developing individual action steps and goals which align with their coaching program(s).
- Utilizes principles of motivational interviewing, follows the Clinical Quality model for coaching, and provides appropriate clinical communications and educational materials to aid members in achieving wellness goals.
- Maintains a caseload at the manager's discretion and based on business needs.
- Knowledgeable about the details of each client's wellness program.
- Answers member questions related to incentives and program details.
- Provides referrals to other vendors and client resources when needed.
- Assists with Special Projects as needed in the Member Care and Coaching Services (for example, services as coach mentor, takes part in company projects, leads onsite webinars, develops, reviews, and/or leads training, etc.).
- Assists with Member Services Calls as needed.
- Understands and strives to achieve all Member Care and Coaching Services metrics and goals.
- Attends and completes training opportunities, in both classroom and online settings.
- Confidentially handles all Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) obtained in the course of this position.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work a 40-hour work week, Saturday through Wednesday, 1:30PM- 10PM CST, including weekends and some holidays.
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-related discipline, including nursing, dietetics, exercise science, counseling, psychology, social work, or health education. Advanced degree a plus.
- The following licensures are not required but highly preferred; National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), Registered Dietitian (RD), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) or Registered Nurse (RN).
- At least 1 year of clinical experience or experience in health and wellness coaching, personal training, health education, counseling, or social work required.
- Experience with clinical health education in areas of, but not limited to, weight management, tobacco cessation, stress management, and physical activity preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of health behavior change techniques.
- Passion and personal accountability for improving the health of program participants. Knowledge and understanding of various biometric results including, but not limited to, blood pressure, cholesterol, body mass index, and other variables of health preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Effective communication and organizational skills

For Colorado, Nevada, New York, and Washington DC-based employment: In accordance with the Pay Transparency laws the pay range for this position is $24 to $28 per hour. The compensation package may include stock options, plus a range of medical, dental, vision, financial, generous PTO, stipends for professional development, and wellness benefits. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. The range listed only applies to Colorado, Nevada, New York, and Washington DC.
