QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree with at least five years’ experience in development or fundraising. Managerial experience required. Background in public relations and communications desirable. Computer literacy. Ability to work well with others. Valid New Jersey driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to The Arc and its insurer.
SUPERVISOR: Executive Director
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
1. Supervise and administer all activities of the Development Department, including special events, fundraising activities, planned giving, membership activities, public relations and public communications.
2. Hire, fire, train, discipline, orient, supervise and evaluate Development Department employees.
3. Supervise preparation and production of The Arc newsletters, annual reports, brochures, other publications, presentations, and e-newsletters. Assist other departments in preparation of similar materials.
4. Oversee The Arc of Monmouth website management and other social media.
5. Oversee and nurture volunteer participation in The Arc’s fundraising and public relations activities.
6. Investigate, develop and initiate new fundraising and planned giving activities.
7. Cultivate potential donors for The Arc of Monmouth.
8. Develop and maintain contacts with media to foster greater public awareness of The Arc of Monmouth.
9. Make presentations regarding The Arc to community organizations, schools, and other groups.
10. Develop and maintain constructive relationships with other organizations, agencies and governmental bodies throughout Monmouth County.
11. Oversee capital fund raising campaigns as needed.
12. Conduct, attend, and document staff meetings, committee meetings and other meetings, training and presentations as required.
13. Research foundations and prepare grant proposals to foundations and other funding sources.
14. Prepare and monitor the budgets of the Development Department.
15. Prepare narrative, statistical or other reports as required.
16. Communicate and cooperate with other departments of The Arc to accomplish the mission of The Arc of Monmouth.
17. Oversee agency participation in joint promotional and fundraising activities with other Chapters of The Arc.
18. Assist in the coordination of membership and informational meetings as needed.
19. Supervise evaluation of department activities and submit related reports.
20. Complete other duties as assigned or required.
