Elevated Chicago is a multi-sector collaborative that promotes more equitable development of public spaces, buildings and vacant land around Chicago’s public transit infrastructure. We focus our work on people-especially Black, Brown and indigenous residents, on places affected by displacement and other forms of inequity in the built environment, and on processes that can repair harms, shift power, spark development, and engage communities.
Position Summary:
The Program Coordinator works with team and coalition members, partners, grantees and contractors to ensure the implementation and operational success of the initiatives, relationships, and partnerships that execute on Elevated Chicago’s workplan priorities and essential organization responsibilities in support of the team. This position serves as the internal and external operational and administrative liaison for Elevated Chicago, in close collaboration with the Executive Director and Manager.
Position Responsibilities:

Aids in building relationships with key stakeholders including community leaders, civic leaders, corporations, and funders

Performs administrative tasks, including meeting coordination and logistics, hosting meetings, developing agendas, taking meeting notes, recording meeting outcomes, and handling scheduling for Executive Director and Manager

Participates in Elevated Chicago’s communications strategy, contributing content to social media channels and website

Develops communication pre- and post-meetings, events, conferences, etc.

Supports project management and coordinates the collection, research, tracking and sharing of data, reports, documents, tools, etc. with appropriate parties for various projects

Tracks, monitors, and supports the execution of contracts, expense reports, invoices, and stipends

Tracks budgets

Supports drafting and editing of memos, letters of support, grant proposals and related presentations, and Requests for Proposals

Supports cross-functional collaboration with the Chicago Community Trust, maintaining close communication with Trust departments, with a focus on Community Impact, Finance, and operations

Represents Elevated Chicago in external initiatives that include key events or partner meetings upon request

Provides support in on-boarding new team members and partners, including task, process, and systems-related one-on-one training to full-time, temporary staff, and interns

Experience and Skills:
Position Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree, bachelor's degree, or equivalent training and work experience.

Exceptional attention to detail.

Excellent Microsoft Office (Outlook, Work, Excel, Power Point) and internet skills.

Proficiency with online systems and databases, including the ability to quickly learn Salesforce and Concur skills.

Excellent verbal and written communications skills: proofreading, composing and editing communications; ability to maintain confidentiality.

Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, establish grantmaking timelines and work independently.

Ability to interact effectively with staff and stakeholders.

Ability to be flexible in roles representing Elevated Chicago

Ability to compile and display data.

Willingness to work as a team member.

Flexibility in work hours. May include occasional evening/weekend hours.
This position is a hybrid position: in-office Tuesdays and Thursdays, and work from home Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
