Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with the dentist and dental hygienists to provide quality oral healthcare to our patients. Your role will involve assisting with various dental procedures, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a comfortable and efficient dental office environment.
Duties:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures by handing them instruments and materials
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
- Prepare materials for impressions and restorations
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring models and trimming plaster casts
- Schedule patient appointments and manage patient records
- Provide support to front office staff as needed
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant preferred but not required
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Proficiency in anatomy knowledge related to oral health
- Familiarity with patient assessment techniques and vital signs measurement
- Experience with dental software systems such as CAD, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix is a plus
- Experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable
- Familiarity with medical coding for dental procedures is an asset
