We are looking for a Certified Medical Assistant to care for our patients and facilitate their recovery. Our residential treatment centers are located in beautiful neighborhoods in Encino, CA and Tarzana, CA. In addition to the duties listed below we are looking for an MA who is passionate about recovery and can relate to an adolescent population. The ideal candidate will be a responsible and well-trained professional able to give the best nursing care with little supervision. You will be compassionate and serve as a role-model to our youth. You will be able to follow health and safety guidelines faithfully and consistently. The goal is to promote patients' wellbeing by providing high-quality nursing care.
Responsibilities :
- Maintains records pertaining to client medication count, daily vitals, height and weight
- Manages urine specimen collection for all clients according to company policies and procedures
- Oversees medication destruction of all discontinued medication according to company policy and procedures
- Responsible for preventing client abuse by adhering to all policies and procedures, attending periodic training, reporting suspicious and inappropriate behavior, and following mandatory abuse reporting requirements.
- Provides direct care and nursing services to clients according to program policies and procedures, and/or individual treatment plan
- Monitors chronic health conditions and evaluate medical concerns.
- Reports any client health concerns (e.g. unusual vital signs, weight, illness) to Director of Nursing
- Complies with all reporting requirements, biohazard program requirements, medical protocols, etc.
- Is responsible for requesting inventory and requisition supplies and instruments (drug screens, breathalyzers, etc.)
- Is responsible for the monthly first-aid box checks and keeps staff updated of their location and ensures their access to at least one of the boxes at the facilities
- Is responsible for scheduling any offsite medical appointment for clients
- Maintains compliance with HIPPA regulations, ADA, and Joint Commission policies and procedures
- Documentation of client/staff COVID protocols according to policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirement :
- Current CMA license in California and 2 years prior experience
- Must have a current driver's license
- Must pass a Live Scan and background check
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and decision-making skills required
- Must present a professional and compassionate demeanor in all interactions
- Experience in residential nursing
- EMR savvy - KIPU is a plus
- Able to work in a fast-paced setting, under pressure, and maintain open and proper communication.
- Full Time : Overnight shift- Tuesday-Saturday: 11pm-7:30am
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
