HIRING LICENSED VOCATIONAL NURSES (LVN)
Position: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
Locations: Santa Fe Springs
Salary: $32 - $38 per hour (Depending on education, experience, skillset and hiring site; Negotiable)
Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Program Supervisor and Medical Director, the LVN is responsible for providing direct healthcare services to our patients.
Essential Job Functions:
- Conduct admissions of clients including orientation, healthcare assessments, patient vitals and COWS/CIWA.
- Provide initial and ongoing patient care assessments and understand patient health goals
- Conduct ongoing health screening to clients including patients exhibiting withdrawals symptoms.
- Document delivery of the patient’s health into agency’s EHR (Electronic Health Record) System
- Support the Medical Director for the Wellness Clinic and document into EHR.
- Based on facility licensing and scope of work, inventory, monitor, dispense and/or administer medication.
- Oversee medication education, management and documentation in EHR.
- Adhere to agencies policies and procedures and inform supervisors of any changes in behavior or condition.
- Maintain a safe working environment that meets federal, state and local licensing requirements.
- Follow patients’ medical treatment plan, review with patient to ensure understanding and compliance.
- Receive and transcribe orders from Medical Director and/or Nurse Practitioner.
- Perform urine drug screen.
- Attend trainings and required staff meetings.
- Provide discharge planning to include follow-up appointments and long-term care with designated collaborating agencies and/or private/public entities.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrates cultural competency and commitment to participants.
- Knowledge and experience with Medical Assisted Treatment (MAT) and/or Detox
- Excellent active listening and crisis intervention skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, including proficiency in balancing direct service responsibilities with data management responsibilities
- Strong administrative skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
- Additional experience with Electronic Health Record, preferred.
- Fluent in English and/or Spanish preferred.
Education:
- Current & active Vocational Nursing License
- Minimum two year experience providing direct services with similar population, knowledge of community resources
for addiction and treatment
- Current AOD Registered or Certified
- Current TB clearance and CPR
Must be able to pass the following pre-employment screenings:
- Background check, including criminal history (LA CADA considers all applicants equally and will take into account each applicant’s individual life circumstances).
- Drug and health screen, including negative TB test
- Employment and education verification
