Utility Crew Lead
Shop – 10 to 20%, Field – 60 to 75 %, Driving – 5 to 10%
Hourly position based on 40+ hour work week.

RESPONSIBILITIES
o Maintain fleet uptime, availability, and reliability standards
o Monitor equipment maintenance procedures for laborers/operators
o Manage material vendors and subcontractor relationships
o Review and approve project invoices and tickets
o Coordinate daily crew and equipment needs to ensure full and efficient utilization
o Providing alternate methods to increase field productions and efficiencies
o Manage daily workflow for crew including locates, layout, traffic control, and staging
o Complete daily journal, inspections, ticket reconciliation, job costing
o Transport equipment in compliance with laws & regulations
o Operate various pieces of heavy equipment, tools, and trucks
o Interpret site plans & specs to complete utility sitework
o Coordinate with shops for necessary repairs and maintenance
o Ensure compliance with appropriate government agencies
o Manage company liability and costs associated with ongoing projects
o Procure safety equipment & supplies for crews
o Ensure that all company safety procedures are strictly adhered to onsite
o Participate in and document tasks in weekly staff meetings
o Prepare documentation for both internal and external communications.
o Any and all other tasks necessary to assist in the completion of the work
SKILLS
o 5 + years supervisory experience in sewer/water/storm equipment operation, transport, and maintenance
o Experience with Caterpillar, Komatsu, Mack and Ford a plus
o Class A with clean driving record and health card
o Familiar with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
o HCSS HeavyJob & Plans software
o Exercise confidentiality in handling sensitive company, vendor, and customer financial data.
o Energetic, organized, reliable, persistent, detailed, self starter
o Strong verbal and written skills required
o Must pass drug & alcohol test
o Maintain professional standards with all vendor, employee, & customer interactions
