Our client in Hayward is seeking a Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to join the team. This is a full time/direct hire opportunity. Previous experience in a food manufacturing facility is preferred
The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician supports the manufacturing plant by providing continuous, safe and efficient operation of the plant through physical facilities, equipment, systems, and utilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties, responsibilities and activities are listed in no particular order and may be changed or updated at any time with or without notice.)
- Performs typical maintenance tasks to maintain the appearance and integrity of the facility.
- Accurately records and reports work performed. Adheres to trade practices and codes.
- Performs general industrial maintenance including installation of appropriate equipment and devices to ensure proper operation.
- Maintenance can include service and/or repair work on plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, motors, pumps, electrical systems, pneumatic tube systems, lighting, flooring, window coverings, walls and other systems.
- Detects and report defective materials or conditions to the department supervisor.
- Maintains work area and facility in a clean and orderly condition following prescribed safety regulations.
- Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on the building or grounds as required.
- Thorough understanding of Sanitary and Food Safety Procedures and precautions, GMP’s and HACCP.
QUALIFICATIONS
1-3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical school education preferred.
- Able to perform but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical (assist the facilities electrician), painting and janitorial.
- Familiar with the use of hand tools and power tools common to the skills listed and well versed in the disciplines mentioned above.
- Able to read and interpret drawings, sketches, OEM instructions and specifications.
- Comfortable working in a team environment consisting of co-workers and outside contractors.
- Ability to use good judgment when performing and planning tasks.
- LOTO, forklift safety, electrostatic discharge awareness, foreign object damage awareness, and quality system awareness
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $27.00 - $37.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
